The Human eye optimum dark-adapted vision is obtained only after a considerable period of time in darkness. The light response of the rods peaks sharply in the blue; they respond very little to red light. It would be undesirable to examine anything with white light even for a moment. Since the rods do not respond to red, the eye can gain full dark-adapted vision. This phenomena arise from the nature of the rod-dominated dark-adapted vision, called Scotopic vision.
CGC® builds our own Infrared, and Full Spectrum lights, and we modified our own cameras. All schematic diagrams for our lights are published on this site.
How CGC® Tests Equipment In The Field
Part of our methodology is to asks HOW, and WHY. There are a lot of claims that new equipment feeds the Ghost in some mysterious way? As soon as we make contact with the entity. We isolate a new piece of equipment in this case a negative ionizer. The claims are that the negative ionizer charges the atmosphere like an Electrical Storm, and the entity can use that to manipulate its environment. So we asked! Does this tool (negative ionizer) in this other room help you, or hurts you? The response we got from the entity was "IT HURTS!" This information has led us to use similar technology CGC® calls "Itching Powder" to localize the entity where we want first used at Mountain Mikes Pizza investigation 2011 - (M.M.P.) with some remarkable success.

REAPER Project: Getting rid of the Haunt?
In all reality all the holy water in the world can't force the spirit to leave. We've been successful at controlling the haunt by treating the entity as an unruly child setting boundaries, and rules that the entity must follow. We have used new technology at a haunt. In a residence in Stockton we nicknamed a R.E.A.P.E.R.® based on CGC® Conscious Energy Theory, and Structural Cohesion Theory. This was our first attempt to use technology to end the haunt with favorable results.

The 16 10mm IR LED lights has frosted LEDs to refract the light for a more consistent level of coverage from the Infrared.
Avoiding YES/NO questions
We make it a point to avoid "YES" "NO" questions. First: Most noises are from the structure itself: pops, creaks, and groans can be interpreted as a "YES", "NO" response when replayed on a voice recorder. Second: CGC® likes to make the entity work harder to answer the question the EVP we've caught speak for themselves. (Evidence Page) We've found that the entity like's to join in on people's conversations. So picking a topic where an opinion is needed yields the best results.
Keep It Down
Sound travels keep your voice at a "moderate level", avoid whispering, and remember their dead not def! It's most likely that the entity responding to you, is standing right beside you. We have found by using the Zoom H2 360 degree microphone during an experiment at a hunted location. The data showed a linear path through the Right Front to Left Rear Microphone on the Zoom H2 from the entity to the voice recorder held by our researcher that recorded the response. The entity targeted it's electromagnetic voice at the Researchers recorder. See Acoustical Energy Theory Which would answer the question: WHY when using multiple voice recorders gathered together within a localized area that ONLY ONE recorder captures the EVP response.

Pulsing your IR/Full Spectrum lights will extend your battery life over 200%
Headphone Amplifier
The Radio Shack "Boostaroo" is a great way to amplify your audio when listening for EVPs. We've found that in our Real Time Communications Research that coupling capacitors in amplifiers filter out infrasound. That is sound waves below 20Hz of course there are now other methods available where a delayed amplification of recorded audio is used as in the DAS-RT-EVP that works very well. CGC® is working on a different solution.

Trigger Objects
We use trigger objects to encourage activity. Our research into the background of the entity haunting the location uncovered a sweet tooth, so we planted treats in the location of the entities death.
Sony ECM-DS70P External Microphone
Used on all our hand held Voice Recorders to reduce the noise from touching, or holding the device. Make it a point to eliminate as much noise contamination as possible this will make analyzing your Audio that much easier, and aid in clearer sounding EVPs.
Robots
Sometimes RC can come in handy such as a floor that is off limits, or not safe to walk on. Case in point the fourth floor of Preston Castle. I fear for my robot "SEEKER" it will give what ever is up there a real fright. There is more to come: October 22nd 2011

Research
Historical Societies: (lineage, and Genealogy)
Libraries: (Old Documents, Newspapers, and other printed materials)
Museums: (Local History, Photographs, and Maps)
Real Estate Records: (History of ownership, and disclosures)
County Records: (Marriage License, Birth, and Death Certificates)
Research is vital to understanding the haunt! What you're usually left with is a Mystery! Such as an entity that shouldn't be there. I'm referring to the case of Mountain Mikes Pizza in Manteca California. We went in looking for Garth Adams the previous owner, and who we found was David? In the true spirit of Sherlock Holmes the game's afoot. This is when having an Historian on the team pays off. Hundreds of hours are spent in Libraries, and Museums chasing leads. What we end up with is a Real Ghost Story.
Be the Biggest Skeptic in the Room!
We find it difficult to believe in a world plentiful in ghosts, and skeptical interpretations should prevail until displaced by strong evidence. It's very easy to be taken in by the hysteria of the moment. That's WHY logical thinking and reality testing should be apart of every investigation.
Video ONLY!
There's an OLD saying, "a picture is worth a thousand words", but what the picture is not telling us makes a world of difference. This is the reason WHY CGC uses video! Such as who was smoking, the marine layer was rolling in, where did the shadow really come from, and last but not least the "GHOST" was a team member walking through the shot. Video tells a more complete story where a picture leaves everyone's mind to wander, called Anthropomorphism. (See Matrixing)
The Walk-through
One of the most important things we do before committing to an investigation is a walk-through. CGC uses floor plans from the walk-through to deploy equipment, and point out hot spots. During our walk-through we run video, and audio conducting an EVP session as a paranormal type of litmus test to determined the level of haunt, or if there is any haunt at all. We've picked up great evidence during our walk-through. A residual of a house fire where kid screaming "Help me Daddy Help me!" EVP 4, and EVP 7 "Your taking me to Church Too! Okay Please!" on our evidence page. All caught during the day during a walk-through.
